Accessibility Statement

Our commitment

We want everyone to be able to use the Hawaii Mortgage Toolkit, including people with disabilities. We build the site to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.

What we have done

• Semantic HTML, with headings and landmarks that screen readers can navigate, plus a “Skip to content” link.
• Every form input has a label.
• The calculator and forms work with a keyboard alone.
• A visible focus outline shows where you are on the page.
• Colors are checked to a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 for text and 3:1 for input borders.
• Animations are reduced if your device is set to reduce motion.
• Calculator results and form errors are announced to screen readers through live regions.

Known limitations

• Some photos are decorative. They have no text description, so screen readers skip them. They don’t carry information you would miss.
• The spam check (Cloudflare Turnstile) is a third-party widget. We can’t fully control how accessible it is. If it stops you from sending a form, call us and we’ll take your request by phone.
• The “Apply now” and document-upload pages are run by CMG Home Loans, outside this site, so they are outside our control. See CMG’s web accessibility page for those.

Compatibility

The site is built to work with current versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge. Our screen reader targets are VoiceOver (on Mac, iPhone and iPad) and NVDA (on Windows).
